Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité – Solidarité.

Slightly off theme I know, but this is not a post to share my thoughts and opinions or gain readership but rather to voice my support and deep sadness over last night’s events.

As I have mentioned before and some will already know, I have friends and French relatives living in Paris and nearby areas, so seeing news of the events unfolding in Paris last night upset me greatly. I’m relieved to be able to say that all are safe and well but it doesn’t make the the situation any less heartbreaking, especially for those who have been less fortunate.

I’m sure not only the people in Paris, but France and further afield, as well as those who may have friends or family involved will be suffering more than I can imagine.  My own thoughts and prayers are with them and all those affected by this horrid and tragic event.

Hearing Obama remind us of of the French values of liberté, égalité, fraternité my own thoughts turned to solidarité, as it appears the rest of the world’s have too….

As the beautiful city of Paris with its buildings and monuments so typically bathed in beautiful light  switch them off in mourning, I see posts of the places around the world lighting their own buildings in the colours of the tricolore in remembrance and solidarity.
